Using some of the funds raised through the 2009 Highland Fling, we decided to support the project run by Jen in Vietnam for a second year. Our decision was supported by the trustees and the money has been sent. As always Jen will be putting the money to excellent use and we look forward to her next update. Background
The Global Volunteer Network - Vietnam has been arranging volunteers to help in around 25 orphanages and day care centres for disadvantaged children in the central provinces of Vietnam.

The children in the programme have suffered much hardship in their lives and received little to no education. Many of them are unable to go to school now and those who can struggle because they missed out on the foundations of their education when they were younger.

We have provided a grant to hire teachers and buy school supplies to run a project to help educate these children; to help build the basic platform which should enable them to build a brighter future for themselves.
