Sponsorship for Turning Point School Transition Programme
Donation Summary

Turning Point works in Africa’s largest slum, Kibera, to relieve poverty, transform lives and restore hope amongst acutely vulnerable children and their families. They work by invitation from the local slum community and are driven by the needs of individual children and their families. Hazel's Footprints has provided a grant for Turning Point to run two programmes to help vunerable children return to school.

The School Preparation Class covers basic education including literacy and numeracy skills, preparing vulnerable children to go on and be integrated into mainstream schools. The School Transition Class rehabilitates street-children and prepares them for entry to mainstream educational establishments. The Transition Class provides a safe, nurturing environment that enables street children to slowly readjust to a more structured way of life.

All of this is possible because of Hazel’s Footprints Trust. The grant that you gave to Turning Point has provided some of the world’s poorest children with access to education, helping to give them the best possible start in life and the hope of a future away from poverty.
